The Grapat week calendar, called 7 Moons. The calendar didn't just get this name. Read more about the meaning of 7 Moons below. The calendar contains 7 nins® (65mm height)-with hats in 7 colors (which are linked to every day of the week according to Waldorf pedagogy), 7 vessels (53mm height) and 1 round plate (180mm ø). The day of the week is changed every day and placed in the center of the plate on top of the barrel. You will notice that children like to do this, and therefore remember the days with associated activities (school, sports, weekend, etc.)! Made from wood and stained with non-toxic water-based paint.
Wonderful material from Grapat to experience the weekly cyclical rhythm. Children learn about the days of the week based on the colors. Ancient cultures believed that every day of the week had its own planet, color, scent, and grain. These ideas were then applied by the Waldorf pedagogy. Monday: Moon, rice, purple or violet, jasmine. Tuesday: Mars, red, barley, clove. Wednesday, Mercury, millet, yellow, copal. Thursday, Jupiter, rye, orange, cedar. Friday: Venus, oats, greenery, rose. Saturday: Saturn, corn, indigo or blue, myrrh. Sunday: sun, wheat, white, incense.
