Natural baby essentials
You're pregnant, how wonderful!
Now that you know you’re expecting, a whole world of questions opens up. Alongside what feels familiar and what you’ve learned from home, you’ll naturally want to explore and find what truly feels right for you and your baby. We hope this natural baby essentials checklist will gently guide you on that journey!

Baby clothing
Your newborn is tiny, adorable and vulnerable all at once. Their ability to regulate body temperature is not yet fully developed, so keeping themselves warm takes a great deal of energy. Energy that is better used for growing. That’s why it’s so helpful when you, as parents, can support them in this. The best way to do so is with clothing made from wool and wool-silk blends.
Silk gently envelops the body without overheating and helps protect against external stimuli. Wool, on the other hand, is naturally insulating, water-repellent and able to absorb a significant amount of moisture without feeling damp. Both wool and silk are also wonderfully soft and comforting to the touch.
In our experience, wool and wool-silk garments last a long time. Wool has natural self-cleaning properties, and often simply airing the garment is enough. Just let it hang outside overnight (in dry weather) or air dry in the nursery. Frequent washing is rarely necessary.
While the initial purchase price may seem high, the durability of wool and wool/silk clothes makes them more economical in the long run. And it’s lovely to know that these pieces can be passed down to younger siblings in the future!

Sleeping
Sleep, little one, sleep… That is what we, as parents, wish for our little ones. To rest well and have the energy they need to grow and thrive. Of course, your baby won’t always sleep when you’d like them to, and they still need time to adjust to life outside the womb and in this big world.
You can gently support your baby during this transition by using a canopy above the cradle. It creates a calm and soothing environment, offering your little one a safe and familiar feeling. A wonderful way to help your baby slowly get used to the world around them.
