How wonderful, a duvet for your little one's crib. A kapok-filled duvet is a duvet that regulates temperature and wicks away moisture all year round. The kapok fiber naturally contains a bitter substance that makes the pillow resistant to dust mites and bacteria, making it hypoallergenic. Goes well with the duvet cover from Midnatt.
About kapok
Did you know that kapok has many similar properties to wool? Kapok perfectly regulates temperature and is also a moisture-wicking fiber! It is a soft, natural fiber derived from the seeds of the wild kapok tree. The kapok fiber contains 80% air, making it the lightest plant fiber in existence (kapok is 8 times lighter than cotton). All kapok items are therefore wonderfully light. The kapok fiber is surrounded by a thin wax layer that prevents kapok from absorbing moisture. This means kapok never feels wet, even if you sweat a lot, for example. The kapok fiber is naturally bitter, making it antibacterial and resistant to dust mites. This is also why kapok can be grown without pesticides. Fun fact: by choosing a kapok product, you are also investing in the preservation of the rainforest and supporting the local population living there.
